| The Ministry of Health in its
National Program for STD and AIDS and the IMAG-Institute of the Memorial of
Graphic Arts of Brazil, with the goal of stimulating and divulging the
prevention of AIDS and Sexually Transmitted Diseases through the creativity
of graphic humorists, invites you to take part in the 1st InternationalFestival of Humor in the Prevention of Aids and Sexually TransmittedDiseases (Brazil). Dates Submission of works:01 July, 2004 (extended until July 15) Festival Opening: 03 August , 2004 . Themes It is not required that the artist participate in all themes, but the use of the theme in his (her) work is obligatory. The themes are: 1) Aids Prevention 2) Aids Treatment 3) Aids Human Rights Prizes 3 (three) prizes will be awarded of R$ 10.000,00 each (about US$ 3.400,00) for the best work in each theme. Also prized will be 20 works selected by the Ministry of Health and the STD and Aids Commission which may take part in campaigns for the prevention of Aids. Each work selected will receive a prize of R$ 1.000,00 (about US$ 330,00). Presentation of Works - Category: Cartoon (definition: graphic fictional and a-temporal joke), respecting one or more above-mentioned themes. - Technique: Works done in any technique will be accepted. - Specifications: Maximum dimensions in the A4 format (21,0 X 29,7 cm or 8 1/2 X 11 3/4 inches), digitized in 300 dpi, RGB color mode, in JPG format (medium quality), observing the maximum limit of 1.5 MB, sent either by internet or recorded on CD and sent to our address below (more secure). Information: The following info must also be sent for each work: Chosen theme, complete name of the author/artist, artistic name, complete address, telephone number, e-mail, ID and CPF number and banking info (where applicable). You may also send, without obligation, a brief resumé and photograph for the Festival’s data bank.
