Festival From The Horse Carriage...To Internet RULES THE CONTEST IS OPEN TO ALL PROFESSIONAL AND AMATEUR CARTOONISTS WITHOUT LIMITATIONS OF AGE •Cartoons on the subthemes have to be enclosed in a A4 envelope on the front side of which a cartoon competing in the theme section “MAIL ART” must be drawn. •Completed author’s entry form has to be enclosed along with the subtheme cartoons . •Number of works in unlimited. •The address of the festival must be put down in the bottom right corner of the envelope and author’s address has to be on the back side. •All “MAIL ART” envelopes have to be sent by post so that to obtain all mailing symbols of the author’s country. •The opening ceremony will be on October 10, 2004, in the town of Veliko Turnovo where the prize winning works will be announced. •The approved selection of works will be also exhibited in other towns of Bulgaria. •Each selected participant will receive a copy of the exhibition catalogue. •Sent cartoons become property of the organizer for the founding of a cartoon museum in Bulgaria. •The organizer holds the copyright of the sent works. •The deadline is September 10, 2004. Along with the general theme the organizers announce the following subthemes: 1.“MAIL”- dedicated to the 125th anniversary of BULGARIAN POST. The theme focuses on the history and development of post services- envelopes, post cards, telegrams, stamps, post packages,spedition, officers, etc. 2.“RAILWAY STATIONS AND TRANSPORT” The history and development of railways- locomotives, stations, officers, passengers, etc. 3.“TRAVEL/VOYAGE WITH DESTINATION BULGARIA” by train, airplane, ship, bus, car, bicycle, ecotourism, etc. 4.“TELECOMMUNICATIONS” The history and development of telecommunications- mobile and wire phones, fax, telex, internet, etc. 5.“FREE THEME” The international jury will decide on the following prizes: GRAND PRIZE- 1000 EURO for the best cartoon or MAIL ART envelope PRIZE to “RAILWAY STATIONS AND TRANSPORT” subtheme- 300 EURO PRIZES to “TRAVEL/VOYAGE WITH DESTINATION BULGARIA” subtheme: First prize- 500 EURO Second prize- vacation in Bulgaria Prize- participation in art colony with Bulgarian cartoonists.
